OgaTailor guides
A measurement book that keeps every fitting
A measurement book is the record of how a person is built, taken at a fitting. In a tailoring shop that record has to survive the next visit. If someone loses or gains weight, you want the new numbers and the old ones. OgaTailor stores each fitting separately on the customer’s profile.
Fields tailors actually use
The sheet is not a generic form. It includes the measurements used at the bench, for men, women, and children:
- Head and cap
- Armhole
- Bust
- Dress length and blouse length
- Inseam
- The other body fields you take for that garment
Large text is there so you can enter numbers while the customer is still standing, including when internet is off.
One sheet per fitting
Each visit is its own sheet. Saving today’s bust, armhole, or inseam does not delete the fitting from last season. When they come back you search by name or phone, open the profile, and see the history instead of hunting through an exercise book.
Find the person before you find the numbers
The measurement book sits on the customer record, next to notes, orders, and invoices. Search by name or phone when they walk in. Archive a client you no longer sew for without throwing away the fittings you already took.
Take the book with you
On Growth and Pro you can export measurements and customer records. The free plan keeps the book on one phone with no sign-in. Backup to the cloud, and use on a second device, are paid options — the shop can run without them.
If you also need the job and the bill on that same profile, see the tailor app overview and fashion shop invoices.
Questions
Which measurements can I record?
Fields tailors use: head and cap, armhole, inseam, dress and blouse lengths, bust, and more, for men, women, and children. Each fitting is saved on its own.
Will a new fitting erase the old measurements?
No. OgaTailor keeps each fitting separately. A later visit does not wipe the earlier numbers.
Can I export the measurement book?
Yes, on Growth and Pro. You can export measurements and customer records and take them with you.
